The Garber piece on faculty activism is particularly intresting because it gets at something Ive noticed in academia for a while now - when professors broadcast their politics in class, students arent gonna challenge that power dynamic. Its kinda like asking someone to argue with their boss about whether they deserve a raise. The institutional voice policy seems like a decent first step but I dunno if it adresses the deeper culture shift thats needed.
