After 9/11 -I seem to remember Americans immediately being “shushed” and told to respect peoples religion and not be bigots. Even though these same people would crap on a statue of Jesus or tell you to take your prayer out of the public sphere. The right and left are not equal on this issue but of course the erasure of history is happening placing the blame on Americans and the right as per usual. Calling out the hypocrisy on campus does not mean we want people silenced. It does mean we want people treated fairly and if treatment are not equal these people must be held accountable. I don’t hear the right saying Muslims and students can’t protest but be held accountable for “parading” and trespassing just like people were that supported Trump.
